Delaware Breastfeeding Village

The Delaware Breastfeeding Village is a program funded through the Delaware Healthy Mother Healthy Infant Consortium.

Program Information

WIC and Medicaid eligible mothers can participate in a 6 month program where they receive support from a breastfeeding peer counselor and a lactation consultant if needed. Mother's receive incentives to participate in groups and have monthly motivational text from peer counselors. Mothers who complete the program will be invited to a baby shower to celebrate completion. The goal is to decrease isolation among mothers, to increase breastfeeding duration and to decrease barriers to breastfeeding support.
